Public Diplomacy

This wiki is meant to serve as a digest of public diplomacy-related information and, most particularly, examples. There will be a particular focus on the use of social media in public diplomacy, both in theory and in practice.

Public Diplomacy 2.0

Public Diplomacy 2.0 (www.pd20.org) seeks to document the use of web 2.0 and social media technologies in the practice of public diplomacy. PD 2.0.org will represent opinions and present examples from a wide range of public and private institutions from around the world. Through interviews with practitioners and thought leaders, analysis of examples in practice, how-to articles, press digests and other sourced and original content, PD 2.0.org's goal is to become a central source for information on Public Diplomacy 2.0.

Public Diplomacy Conference

This conference would be largely informal (see "unconference") and probably limited to a single day of discussions and sessions. Tentative plans are focusing on a mid-Summer timeframe.

Examples

  • Gaza: Social media usage during the 2008-2009 Israel-Gaza conflict
